New Event: Race to the Sun- 100 Miler

A 162-kilometre joyride from Hartebeespoort to Sun City.

Advendurance has done it again! A brand-new adventure is released into the cycling market. Race to the Sun will take place Saturday, 04 August 2018. This event will be a one-of-a-kind event where racers will encounter a 162-kilometre gravel race with uncharted routes, panoramic views of the Magaliesberg Mountains and an elite cycling experience.

“We wanted to do something out of the ordinary for the cycling community. An event where their endurance will be tested and be spoiled with unknown territories.” said race director Francois Theron. “We’ve managed to find some of the most extraordinary routes for riders to enjoy. It is really a race for the entire family.”

The race will have a neutral start at Hartebeespoort High School and continue onto dirt roads along the canal, heading towards Brits. Spectators and family members can follow along and await their loved ones at the water points which are situated at NG Church Dalunie (45-kilometres), NG Church Beestekraal (85-kilometres) and close to Bojateng (120-kilometres). Individuals and teams of two & four can enjoy the 162-kilometre journey to Sun City, whilst relay teams attempt half the distance which amounts to an average of 80-kilometres each.

Here is a sneak peek:
